This event was organised by Holly Trundle and other members of the "Action Team" to raise funds for the new Community Centre the Team were providing for the Welney Parish Council.
The MAP was unboxed and erected against the wall of Welney Parish Hall along with the side information boards by Derek Levesley and Peter Cox as one of the attractions, and it proved very popular, many saying they hadn't realised it existed, and what a wonderful work it was.
Where is it now?
In September 2016 Welney Parish Council needed to empty the old Parish Hall on Bedford Bank,
where the MAP was stored, prior to relinquishing the lease following the completion of the
replacement Community Centre at the Playing Field.
None of the Councillors thought there was any need to continue to keep it (despite it being a popular attraction last year as described above) and decided to dump
it. Fortunately Mr John Loveday thought it was worth keeping, and kindly offered to store it in
his warehouse in March Road. Anyone wishing to view or display it should contact Mr Loveday at DEM Sports Ltd, tel 01354 610353, M-F, 0900-1700hrs.
